As the pow wow season nears its end, here I would like to share with you an Intertribal Pow Wow which took place in August 2000 in northern Maine.

The drum is the heart of the pow wow. The ceremonial drum and the drummers and singers are seated under an arbor as they play throughout the day for the dancers and public present.

It is the beat of the drum; the many traditional and intertribal songs that touch our hearts as we dance, sing and pray within the dance circle.
